Expedia's extranet allows you to configure a room rate to be linked (in Caterbook we call this "derived") from another "Parent" stand-alone rate.
Because all of the source pricing and availability information is with the parent rate, channel managers can't update these linked rates, but we can import bookings from them into the corresponding Caterbook room/rate combination - so for example, you know whether a guest has booked a rate with breakfast or not.
When working with linked Expedia rates in Caterbook, you will always need to have the parent rate mapped in the Expedia connection in addition to the linked rate that's being updated from it, or else no availability and pricing changes will be sent to Expedia for this linked rate.
Here we have a Double Room, mapped to both a Standard and Non-refundable rate in Expedia. Clicking Show Rates Info shows the Non-refundable rate has an [L], indicating it is linked.
Caterbook will update rates and availability for the stand alone Standard rate, and Expedia will use that availability, and handle any changes of pricing (eg -£15) at their side.
When any bookings for Non-refundable rates are received into Caterbook, they will be imported with the mapped ro (OTA) rate.
