When creating a new booking, or by editing an existing booking you can use the Caterpay - Verify payment Type to store cards for charging later.
It's a good idea to ensure you have the Address 1 and Postcode fields completed in Guests tab of the booking if you are using AVS checking (and also if you intend to create an invoice).
New Booking.
In Step 4. Finance, you'll select Caterpay - Verify.
On clicking Book, the Caterpay Virtual Terminal is launched, and it will pull through the Guest's address details from the booking.
Enter the Card details and then click the Securely Submit Payment button. After a short wait Caterpay will return a response.
Existing booking.
From the Finance tab, under the Payments section, click Add new.
For the payment Type, select Caterpay - Verify and click Save.
The Caterpay virtual terminal window will pop up, allowing you to enter and store the card.
Points to note.
Caterpay will actually verify that the card is valid against the banking system. As well as checking the card number and expiry date, it will check the provided CVV matches that held by the bank, and you can also configure it to check that the house number and postcode match those that the card is registered to.
Caterpay checks the CVV number at the time of verification, and then we can rebill the card multiple times if required, securely, against the original transaction that had the CVV, meaning lower bank fees for you the merchant.
The ability to rebill expires after 400 days or on expiry of the card, whichever is soonest.
