Rack Rate

The Cambridge dictionary defines a Rack Rate as :

the official price that a hotel advertises for a room, not including any special offer or price reduction:
The hotel group is offering rooms at £29 where rack rates are typically £90.
Hardly anyone pays rack rate anymore - there are too many weekend, last-minute and Web-only specials.

In Caterbook, we recently introduced a Rack Rate field on the Add/Edit Room Type screens because this is a required field for a number of OTA integrations.

You should enter a figure which is the most expensive price this room might ever be sold for - for example, the Saturday night of August Bank Holiday weekend.
