To mitigate fraudulent individuals from stealing, destroying or accessing your data for their own use, Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) must now be enabled on all Caterpay MMS accounts.
To ensure that you have the highest level of security and do not lose access to your Caterpay MMS, we strongly recommend that you also download your recovery codes, which will allow you to login should you lose access to the 2FA app on your device.
What Do I Need To Do?
If you have not yet set up 2FA on your Caterpay MMS, we recommend that you action this immediately to ensure that you're utilising the highest level of security.
Setting up 2FA:
You can set up your 2FA by following the steps below:
1. Log in to your Caterpay MMS and select your name in the top right-hand corner of your account.
2. Click 'Setup 2FA'.
3. Follow the 'Authenticator App Setup' Instructions in the MMS, detailed below for reference.

By default, the MMS recommends that the user downloads the Google Authenticator app, details of which can be found here. However, the Gateway is configured to work with most third-party authentication apps. You can download Google Authenticator for Android here, or Apple devices here. You can of course use a different authenticator app if you'd prefer.
Backup codes
It is essential that once you've set up 2FA that you download the recovery backup codes and store them in a safe secure location.
You can download your backup codes from the 2FA section of your User Profile in the MMS by following the below steps:
- Select your name in the top right corner of the MMS
- Select Change 2FA
- Download Backup Codes
Using your Backup codes
If you lose or change your mobile device with the authenticator app on it, then you can use a backup code to gain access to your Caterpay MMS. Simply enter the 8 digit backup code (including the space) where you'd enter the authentication code on login.
N.B. You cannot use a backup code more than once. If you require more backup codes, you can download a new batch of 10 from within your Caterpay MMS.
