Caterbook allows you to send email using your own email account, to reduce the chances of emails being tagged as spam before they reach your guests.
If you are using Gmail as your email provider, the default values you should use under Property / Email settings are:
- Mail Account used as sender: Your Gmail address (e.g. email@example.com)
- Mail provider: SMTP
- SMTP use ssl: OFF/0
- SMTP server hostname: smtp.gmail.com
- SMTP password: Your Gmail password
- SMTP port: 587
- SMTP server user: Your Gmail address
NOTE: If you're using '2 factor authentication' on your Google account, you'll need to create and use an app-specific password solely for Caterbook. If you don't have this feature enabled, and your Gmail password isn't recognised, then you may have to enable your account for "less secure apps": https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
Be sure to use the blue "Send Test Email" button to make sure you have configured this correctly.
